How much does a website really cost in Nigeria in 2026?
Ask five designers about the same business and you'll get five prices. One says ₦180,000. Another says ₦1,200,000. A third says ₦650,000. Nobody is necessarily lying. They're answering different questions. Here's what actually moves the number, so you can read any quote you're handed.
The ranges you will see published
Nigerian pricing guides in 2026 broadly agree on these bands:
- Simple 3–5 page business site: about ₦120,000 – ₦300,000, often template-based with light customisation.
- Small business site with a blog and lead forms: about ₦250,000 – ₦600,000.
- E-commerce store: from roughly ₦350,000 and up, more if you need inventory, couriers or payment integrations.
- Corporate site for an established brand: ₦800,000 – ₦2,500,000 and beyond.
- Freelancer rates: entry-level ₦50,000 – ₦150,000, mid-level ₦200,000 – ₦500,000.
- Running costs: domain ₦5,000 – ₦25,000 a year, hosting ₦15,000 – ₦200,000 a year, maintenance ₦50,000 – ₦200,000 a year for a basic business site.
Notice the overlap in those bands. Two quotes for ₦150,000 can buy you two completely different things. The price on its own tells you almost nothing.
What actually changes the price
- Who builds it. A freelancer with low overheads can charge less than an agency that has a designer, a developer and a project manager. You are paying for the team as much as the site.
- Custom design vs a ready template. A template rebranded to your colours, logo and items takes days. A layout drawn from scratch for your business takes weeks.
- Number of pages and products. Ten products and five pages is a different job from 500 products with categories, search and bulk upload.
- Content. If you supply your own text and photos, the price drops. If someone has to write your “About us”, shoot your products and edit the images, that is real work.
- Integrations. Card payments, delivery tracking, inventory, WhatsApp automation, email: each one adds build time and something that can break later.
- What happens after launch. The cheapest quote usually ends at launch. Then you find out who updates prices, fixes a broken page, renews the domain, and what that costs per year.
What very cheap quotes actually mean
Below roughly ₦100,000, Nigerian market guides are blunt: the work is usually a pre-built theme with your logo dropped in, minimal customisation, no SEO groundwork and no handover of access. That can still be the right decision if all you need this month is to exist online. Just go in knowing what you bought, and ask who controls the domain and the hosting.
The opposite trap is paying agency prices for a small job. If you sell one thing to one kind of customer, ₦2,000,000 doesn't buy you more orders. It buys you process.
Where my own prices sit, and why
I sell templates I built myself, rebranded for your business. That cuts out the most expensive part of a custom build (drawing the layout from zero) and keeps the parts that actually make you money:
- Landing Page, from ₦30,000. One page, one job: a promo, a campaign, a launch.
- Basic Website (5-page), from ₦50,000. For a business that needs to look established quickly.
- Business Website, from ₦80,000. A catalogue with search, categories and item pages.
- E-commerce Website, from ₦150,000. A full shop with bulk product upload and an order dashboard.
All of them send itemised orders or enquiries straight into WhatsApp, so there's no card gateway to set up and no failed card prompts for your buyers. I connect your domain and put the site live (if you don't own a domain yet, registration is billed at the registrar's real price), and I confirm your exact figure in writing on WhatsApp once I've read your brief.
Five questions to ask anyone who quotes you
- Do I own the domain and the hosting account, in my own name?
- Can I change prices and products myself, or do I message you every time?
- What happens when something breaks six months from now? Is that included, and for how long?
- Will it still load quickly on a ₦500 data plan on a phone?
- What is NOT included in this price?
If the answers are vague, the price doesn't matter. If they're clear, you can compare quotes properly.
Send me your business name and what you sell. You'll get a price, a date, and an honest answer if a cheaper option would do the job.
